Read the map as an orientation guide

This illustrated map brings together several different kinds of places: residential areas, private-club facilities, and gateways into the wider area. Their appearance on the same drawing does not mean they share an owner, an operator, or an access policy. Firethorne home ownership does not include club membership. The Country Club of the Carolinas, formerly Firethorne Country Club, is separate from the HOA. Use the map to organize your research, then verify property boundaries and current facility information independently.

How to use filters and share a view

Use the category buttons above the illustration to show or hide Golf, Club Amenities, Neighborhoods, and Gateways. At least one category remains enabled. Select a visible marker to read its description and verification notes in the detail panel. If a selected category is hidden, the map shows a marker from a remaining category instead. Reset View returns to the initial selection and all categories. Filtering is a way to simplify the drawing, not a statement about which places are open to visitors.

Save the context, not just the picture

Select the marker you want and set the categories before choosing Share This View. The selected marker and category filters are stored in the page URL, so the shared link carries that context to another reader. The QR panel offers another way to open the view on a device. If copying is unavailable in your browser, copy the address from the address bar instead. A shared view records an editorial selection; it does not reserve a visit, provide directions, or authorize access.

Golf markers

The Golf category contains Championship Golf Course and Practice Facility. Both describe private-club locations rather than facilities included through HOA assessments. The course marker links to the country-club guide; the practice marker provides orientation and notes about checking configuration, instruction, and access. A location next to golf does not establish playing rights or tell you the conditions at a particular property. Confirm operational details with the club before planning an activity around either marker.

Club Amenities markers

This category contains Firethorne Country Club, Racquet Sports Complex, Aquatics & Family Pool, Fitness & Wellness, and Family Park & Playground. These are the names used in the existing map. Read the notes carefully: the park marker explicitly asks readers to verify ownership and access, so the category label should not be treated as proof of club ownership for every point. Hours, facilities, programming, and permissions require confirmation with the appropriate operator. The clubhouse marker leads to the country-club guide.

Neighborhood markers

The Estates at Firethorne, The Manors, and Villas & Golf Cottages form the Neighborhoods category. These markers illustrate residential settings, not surveyed neighborhood boundaries. The Estates and Manors markers reference the homes guide. For any specific address, check the parcel, actual lot dimensions, building condition, and governing documents. In the villas area, verify maintenance responsibilities rather than assuming that a descriptive label establishes which work is covered. Proximity to a club building does not establish access to it.

Gateway markers

Main Entrance and Downtown Waxhaw are the two Gateways markers. Main Entrance provides illustrative entrance context, not entry procedures. Downtown Waxhaw places the historic town core within the wider area and links to the community guide. Neither point supplies a dependable travel-time estimate. Check the exact route and current conditions separately, and confirm arrangements for any private destination before setting out. A gateway symbol should not be read as a representation of a gate or restriction.

Accessibility and a text alternative

You can use the category controls and marker buttons with a keyboard and read the accompanying detail panel rather than relying only on the drawing. The written category lists here provide a text alternative for understanding which places the illustration includes. Marker positions are illustrative, not survey-grade, and the SVG is not a pedestrian accessibility map. It does not establish step-free routes, parking arrangements, surface conditions, or accessible entrances. Confirm those requirements with the destination before a visit.

Guides referenced by the markers

Continue with the Country Club guide for the clubhouse and course markers, the Homes guide for the Estates and Manors markers, and the Community guide for Downtown Waxhaw. These are the guide destinations attached to the map markers; other markers provide notes without a separate guide button.
