Submitting a DMCA takedown notice
If you believe content on this Site infringes your copyright, send a written notice through our contact form — the only contact channel offered on this Site — including all of the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
- identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail (including the page URL) for us to locate it;
- your name and an electronic address at which you can be contacted;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may not be actionable. Knowingly submitting a material misrepresentation may subject you to liability for damages and attorneys' fees under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
Our response
Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will expeditiously remove or disable access to the material identified and, where applicable, notify the person who supplied it. We may terminate access for repeat infringers.
Counter-notice
If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice through the contact form containing your signature, identification of the removed material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief that removal was the result of mistake or misidentification, your electronic contact address, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your district (or, if outside the United States, the Western District of North Carolina).
Corrections and removal requests
Requests to correct factual errors, or to remove a photograph, name, or reference, may also be submitted through the contact form. We review every request in good faith, though we retain editorial discretion over lawful content.
